Background

It is ground from dried red fruit of the sweet pepper plant. It originates from central Mexico and made its way to Europe in the 16th century. Great story right here - http://www.travelstart.co.za/blog/paprika-the-travelling-spices-story/
Cooking
-
Paprika is one of the greatest spices for any home chef. It adds a mild spiciness and color to a dish without being overbearing. Our paprika is the traditional paprika, i.e. it is not smoked and it is not Spanish paprika.
Cultural
-
Against all conventional wisdom, it was only widely adopted in Hungary in the 19th century leading to the world- famous chicken paprikash and beef goulash. It is funny how today's dishes and cooking styles are associated with the culture of a country and one assumes that Hungarian culture included Paprika for centuries. Hungarian Goulash (Paprikasch) is probably the Hungarian national dish and every mother has a different recipe.
Spiritual
-
Paprika by itself does not carry a strong spiritual meaning, except as being part of the pepper family. Peppers and their spiciness have meaning across multiple cultures (see under cayenne). However, there is some historic connection between paprika and the community of Hungarian Jews - https://www.tabletmag.com/jewish-life-and-religion/174314/paprika-jewish-spice
Medicinal
-
According to conventional wisdom, Paprika helps with indigestion, cardiovascular health, and circulation; is antibacterial and anti-inflammatory; and contains vitamins A, E, K, and C. Lots of additional information here - https://draxe.com/paprika/
